JD and Natalie Mangrum moved to Charlestown at the end of 2016 along with their two sons — Noah and Owen. Before relocating to New England to start Christ Church Charlestown, they started Origins Church in downtown Greenville, South Carolina. The Mangrums are proud residents of Charlestown and are involved at their sons’ school, have helped coach their sons’ sports teams, and seek to be active members of the community wherever possible. During their first year in Charlestown, JD has served with Charles River Church in Roslindale to learn the community and receive training from pastors from Boston. The Mangrums love drinking coffee, walking the neighborhood, spending time at the parks, and laughing and sharing meals with friends and neighbors in Charlestown.
Kayla Stephens relocated to Charlestown in early 2019 to serve with Christ Kids and Community Engagement. She has a heart for serving children and families in Charlestown and showing them the love of Christ. Kayla loves to sing, watch Clemson football, eat croissants, and have game nights with friends. In addition to serving at Christ Church, Kayla works part-time as a pediatric nurse taking care of little ones from newborns to teenagers.
